Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practicable skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprises and industry contexts. Individuals at this level display imitative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements. They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

This qualification is offered as a stand-alone qualification or a dual qualification with BSB51715 Diploma of Recordkeeping.

Course Structure

A total of 12 units are to be undertaken for this qualification, comprising 4 core units;

  • BSBLDR501 Develop and use emotional intelligence
  • BSBLDR502 Lead and manage effective workplace relationships
  • BSBMGT517 Manage operational plans; and
  • BSBWOR502 Lead and manage team effectiveness

and:

  • A minimum of 4 units must be selected from a nominated elective list (Group A) and the remaining 4 units may be selected from the listed electives (Group A or B) or up to 2 may be from Diploma or above in the Business Services Training Package. If not listed in nominated electives 1 unit may be from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course at Diploma level.

Dual Qualification

After the completion of the Diploma of Recordkeeping course (subject to unit selection) 7 of the 8 units in that qualification can be used towards the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management qualification. Following is an example of the unit offered for the dual qualification;
